THEME 4:

Dissemination and Partnerships with industry, research and government

Fundamental to the success of the LCRI is a collaborative relationship with industry, government and other national and international research organisations in order for Wales to build, sustain and export its energy research expertise.

Wales already has a good industrial energy base with many local industries already working with academic partners. Larger national and international industries are also actively involved in research partnerships. Partnerships are also well established with UK and international research organisations.

The aim of LCRI is to build on these existing partnerships to develop new energy industries, for example, large and small scale renewables, LEDs and smart metering.  The LCRI will look to work with industry and SMEs so that both can benefit. LCRI will also work with central and local government on policies and major projects in Wales to ensure that a robust energy strategy is in place for a future low carbon Wales.
