Low carbon energy generation, storage and distribution

Clean energy production is essential to meet national and international requirements for a low carbon future. Future UK energy supply will comprise of large and small scale energy generation systems, with a mix of more efficient and reduced carbon fossil fuel systems, nuclear and renewable energy sources. In particular Wales needs to develop its renewable energy production through both large scale installations, for example off shore wind and tidal schemes, and through micro-generation, for example, biomass and building integrated solar and wind systems.
