WEST Course: The Nature of Fuels

LCRI’s WEST project will be hosting The Nature of Fuels, the latest Large Scale Power Generation course, on 5th August at Cardiff University’s School of Engineering.
This face to face session has been designed by the Large Scale Power Generation team from Cardiff University’s School of Engineering, and is aimed at individuals working or interested in working in the field of combustion.
The Nature of Fuels is a 1 credit CPD module, accredited to level 4 of the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. The course is fully funded for people living or working within Welsh Convergence areas.
The course introduces alternative and renewable fuels for heat and electricity generation, examining the ways in which utilising these new fuels present challenges to industry. The content cover the ways in which the fuels are sourced, produced, analysed and characterised. Topics will also include issues with fuel variability and the potential of shale gas.
