LCRI Marine Head to Belfast

Last week, LCRI Marine’s Industrial Liaison Officer Gareth Potter exhibited alongside Welsh Government at the 2 day Renewable UK Wave and Tidal Conference 2014, in Belfast’s Waterfront conference centre.

Celebrating its 11th year, the conference is the industry’s premier wave and tidal energy event and attracted over 600 delegates representing government, investors, developers and industry.

LCRI Marine exhibited alongside flagship Welsh companies comprising Marine Energy Pembrokeshire, Tidal Energy Ltd, Mabey Bridge and Ledwood Engineering, within the specially commissioned Welsh Government stand.

The event allowed LCRI Marine to showcase the expertise and experience of the five Welsh Universities partners of LCRI Marine, to the who’s who of marine energy in Europe.

Gareth said “This conference was another great opportunity to promote the work being done by the LCRI Marine team. This year is a real milestone success for Wales where we can start promoting the installation of Wales’ first tidal energy converter in Welsh waters later this year by Tidal Energy Ltd, with two more flagship tidal projects set to follow in 2015”.
